FUNDING Opportunity for Community Volleyball Development and Mentorship!

Sport for All: Empowering Communities to Deliver Quality Programming
Volleyball Canada has received a Community Sport for All grant from Sport Canada. The grant provides funding, resources, and leadership development to organizations in Atlantic Canada and the Territories.
The funding (up to $10,000 per selected organization) will be allocated to communities to purchase volleyball equipment and support program delivery. Additionally, each community will receive two bursaries for developing leaders to participate in a virtual mentorship program and attend the CSI Atlantic Coaches’ Conference (Halifax, NS: April 18-20, 2024).
"This initiative offers an opportunity to empower community programs and leaders by providing resources, fostering regional connections, and facilitating mentorship opportunities," said Dawna Sales, Volleyball Canada’s director of athlete and coach pathways. "With dedicated funding, communities will have the ability to initiate programs that directly enhance access to safe, quality activities, catalyzing positive change and strengthen local leadership."

The selected communities may access support for volleyball programming held between March to June 2024, in four age categories: 6-9 years old, 10-12 years old, 13-18 years old, as well as adult programs.
The Government’s Community Sport for All Initiative supports National Sport Organizations (NSOs) in establishing more accessible and locally organized sport programs aimed at reducing barriers to participation. Through an investment of $16.7 million, 39 NSOs can give Canadians access to and stay involved in sport.
In 2023, also through a Sport for All grant, Volleyball Canada helped community organizations deliver volleyball programs to newcomer and racialized communities across Canada and in Indigenous communities in Quebec.
